By Jeffrey Hauser Ive just watched another episode of Dr. Phil where another insensitive clod was cheating on his wife while she was caring for his three kids. He explained how he was feeling neglected and the sex wasnt the same anymore either. Really? What was she thinking putting the baby before him? Couldnt the little sucker wait for her to satisfy her husbands primal needs first, instead on crying to have his diaper changed or be fed? How insensitive of the newborn. Its not just on Dr. Phil. Cheating men are everywhere with all kinds of similar reasons for committing adultery. A few that I can remember are: (a) My wife doesnt look like the hottie she was ten years ago But you do? (b) I need change of scenery Then go on a vacation (c) We dont have enough sex It takes two to tango. (d) She spends too much time with the kids And your responsibility is what again? (e) Shes gained weight I suppose youre the same trim stud as you always were? (f) We never talk anymore Is your mouth sewn shut too? (g) It just happened when we got a new secretary And the new mailmans off limits? (h) We met in a bar and I was drunk When liquors involved, its always acceptable. (i) I dont have an excuse: it just happened Finally, an honest man. Remember why you married in the first place. Wasnt there something about commitment and responsibility? I realize that many woman cheat on their husbands and it works both ways. But this is about men. Ive seen these great looking women with these loser macho men that think theyre Gods gift to other ladies and somehow deserve better. Well, I have a clue for them: they arent and dont. Be thankful for what you have and make it work. Most of these guys dont realize how lucky they are and how many other guys lust after their wives. But, instead, they go trawling around after anything in a skirt, thinking that other woman cant wait to be hit on for a quicky. These shallow men make us all look bad. There are either really stupid when it comes to women or totally misguided. They dont understand the consequences of their actions and figure the whining bitch will always take them back when they come limping home after a failed affair. After all, who else would want the old, fat, kid-rearing, ex-hottie, that doesnt talk much, always looks about the same, and doesnt even give BJs anymore? I wonder why not? Look what our man did to deserve her affections before the affair. If all of this is lost on the men reading this article, I have a final word of advice. Its rarely, if ever, worth a few minutes of sexual pleasure with a stranger when your wife is more than willing to satisfy you. That is, if you are willing to do a minimal amount of loving and caring for her. But if thats too much to ask, then go right on being the worlds biggest jerk. Demand and trend are the two key factors that determine which countries to select first and how to set priorities. Market research helps you identify promising markets through objective analysis of available facts and statistics. Its true, many companies start export whenever it receives unsolicited orders from abroad. Although this type of selling is valuable, the company may discover even more promising markets by conducting a systematic search. Primary and Secondary Market Research Market research is conducted by analysing primary or secondary data resources. In conducting primary market research, a company collects data directly from foreign marketplace through interviews, surveys, feedback and other such direct contact with potential buyers. Primary market research has the advantage of being tailored to the needs of the company and provides answers to specific questions, but it is invariably time consuming and very expensive. Secondary market research is based on analysis of statistical data such as trade statistics. To be effective, the data should be reliable and cover significant historical period. Though it is considerably less expensive than primary research, one should be aware of its limitations. For example, the most recent statistics for some countries may be more than two years old. Moreover, the data may be too broad to be of much value to a company. Statistics may also be distorted by incomplete data-gathering techniques. Finally, statistics for services are often unavailable. Yet, even with these limitations, secondary research is a valuable and relatively easy first step for a company to take. It may be the only step needed if the company decides to export indirectly through an intermediary, since the later may have advanced research capabilities Step 1 - Collect Data Collect export statistics published by authentic sources. In India, there are two major sources for reliable trade statistics - Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS) and Customs. DGCIS publishes ‘Monthly Statistics of Foreign Trade of India’ Its March issue contains cumulative data for whole financial year (April to March). After publishing extremely voluminous books for years - DGCIS has started publishing this data in CD-ROM from 2004. DGCIS statistics is extremely important for macro level data analysis. One can find out product and country wise (as also country and product wise) statistics for whole year from DGCIS publications. Check volume as well as trend for a historical perspective of 5 to 10 years. Ask critical questions - has market growth been consistent year to year ? Has there been a shift in product choice ? Was there a seasonal bias ? For example - analysis of spice export data for last few years may show increasing sale of curry-type mixed powder spices and modest or decreasing sale of whole seeds. Another example - increased rice export to Bangladesh may be traced to floods in that country rather than any long term change in demand profile. Such spurt in demand is unlikely to sustain for long and should be considered a temporary phenomenon. In both cases - historical analysis of foreign trade statistics can help you identify seasonal bias or shift in demand. Step 3 - Identify Emerging Markets Identify some smaller but fast-emerging markets that may provide ground-floor opportunities. If the market is just beginning to open up, there may be fewer competitors than in established markets. Growth rates should be substantially higher in these countries to qualify as up-and-coming markets, given the lower starting point. Step 4 - Assess Target Markets Ascertain the sources of competition, including the extent of domestic industry production. Analyze factors affecting marketing and use of the product in each market, such as end-user sectors, channels of distribution, cultural factors and business practices. Finally, identify tariff and non-tariff barriers (if any) for the product being imported into the target country Step 5 - Draw Final List After analyzing the data, the company may conclude that its marketing resources would be applied more effectively to a few countries. In general, if the company is new to exporting, then efforts should be directed to fewer than ten markets. Exporting to one or two countries will allow the company to focus its resources without jeopardizing its domestic sales efforts. Accentuating the Eyes: The Art of Permanent Makeup

Eyes are the most expressive feature on the human face; through them we see emotion, thoughts, secrets and reflections of ourselves. To illustrate the power of permanent makeup and the art of eyeliner let me tell you about one of my clients. The star feature of her face was fabulous almond shaped eyes. Following cosmetic surgery to take her back in time a bit, her eyes healed into a different shape, which made the outer corners awkwardly rounded and one lower eyelid partially drooped. Before agreeing to another surgery to fix it, she searched for an alternative way to regain the almond shape. With a little design strategy and meticulously placed pigment all around her eyes, we lifted the droop and then by marking into puckered scar tissue, we re-created the almond-type point at the outer corner of each eye. My client was amazed at how precise and subtle the permanent makeup appeared and she was thrilled to be able to go without topical makeup once again. When I think of the power of permanent eye makeup, another client always comes to mind. Advanced in years, she wanted the outer her to reflect the youthfulness of the inner her. The blue color of her eyes was stunning, and definitely worth flaunting; however, a few wisps of blonde eyelashes and a total absence of eyebrows did nothing towards the cause. She started out conservatively with very soft, natural-looking permanent eyebrows and lash enhancement. A year later she returned, asking for a bolder look. Here is what she had to say: “Even with the plastic surgery (3 facelifts), the permanent makeup is what gave me the most self esteem. I wish I’d known about it and done it years ago.” Consider the Advantages Permanent makeup appeals to a wide variety of people. Third, if you can’t relax or concentrate, pull into a service station, a post office, a store , or any public place and resume driving later. Now here’s my best. When I saw this, I would never stop that vehicle. I hope I can explain this accurately. Place your right hand on the steering wheel (at the 12 o’clock position), take your left elbow and situate it on your door window sill, take your left hand and scratch your head, play with your hair, or if you’re bald, rub your scalp. I can’t explain it, but this action appears so normal and innocent that it has always cause me to look elsewhere. I believe that it says, I’m not a criminal or violator. By Ashley N Beck What are the different sources of revenue you have? You need to determine these and which one is your money-maker. There are four different types of revenue within the seminar business. Each has a different position to making you money. When I plan seminars, I take each of these four streams of revenue and determine where the money goes from each one. You must determine these revenue streams to make money! 1. Registration (Gate) Your registration fee should be high enough to cover the expenses of your conference. You are NOT going to make money in this area! The goal of registration is to cover your overhead cost, NOT make a profit. 2. Sponsors/Vendors Sponsors and vendors are a great way to help cover some of your overhead costs, also. Another way to use this money is to provide something you wouldnt normally provide. For example: At the Family Ebiz Expo, if we are able to get a sponsor or two, we will add food at one of our break-out sessions. 3. Product Sales (Back of the Room Sales- BOR) This is your MONEY-MAKER! This is where you will bring in profit. Speakers will sell products; this should include your invited speaker and you! Yes, you should speak at your event! When a speaker speaks at your event, you get a 50% commission. This should be in your contract! This is very important, so that you make money. One of the reasons you should speak is you get a 100% commission. This is your pay-day. This is where you will make the most money. Later on, I will talk about seminar etiquette but if you follow the etiquette secrets I share with you, you should have the most sales at your event! 4. After Event Sales The last stream of revenue is after event sales. This can be a pretty big money-maker, also. Make sure to record and/or video the event (video-taping depends on your budget). You can then sell these recordings to attendees and those who didnt get a chance to come. There are different ways to sell these; either as a big package or as individuals talks. Right after the event, I would sell them as a package. Then once things die down a little start releasing them one-by-one. This becomes a more constant source of income. Remember where your money-maker is: Back of the Room Sales! This is where your profit will come from; not your registration costs!!! This is a mistake many people make. This limited mindset causes men to hold false beliefs and inhibit bad behavior toward the women they choose. The Fantasy Of The One Society pours the idea down your throat that there is only one person out there for you. They call them the one, soul mates, twin flame, or any other ridiculous name. These things are about as real as Santa Claus, Tooth Fairies, and Leprechauns, yet so many people like to fantasize that they are real. The truth is there is not one person you are meant for. Holding this belief only holds you back from seeing the truth and having real options in your dating life. Sure some women are more compatible for you than others, but with over 3 billion women on this planet to choose from if youre still thinking theres only one for you, you are only limiting yourself. People like to convince themselves that theyve found a soul mate when theyve made poor choices with who they date then all of a sudden someone comes along that they actually have things in common with and because theyve never experienced this before they call them their soul mate. Thinking that you cant feel the same way about any other person is a false belief. Thats great that you were able to establish a strong bond with one woman but to think you cant feel that same way about another woman is completely false. This type of mentality keeps people from moving on after relationships. It keeps them from getting out of bad relationships they should have never been in in the first place! Be Complete On Your Own Weve all heard the other suck up false belief, you complete me. Men and women who are looking for someone to complete them are only hiding the fact from themselves that they dont feel complete as a person on their own. You need to find yourself and be completely satisfied with who you are, dont try to find yourself in another person. You need to have more going on for you than her. Think about how unattractive that is to have nothing going on for yourself than her. The moment you make her the center of who you are you lose the very thing that made her attracted to you. She was likely attracted to you for who you were and all the interesting things about you. Now if what you have going on for yourself is her, she will not be attracted to you. This mentality will make you start to get needy toward her. You might subconsciously start sucking up to her. You might seek her approval as if shes better than you. She will quickly pick up on these queues and lose attraction for you. Learn To See Abundance Once you learn to see abundance in the women you have to choose from it will open up a whole new world of opportunity for your dating life. You will never come from a take what you can get mind frame. You will see a ton of choice and will allow yourself to become choosy. Guys often settle for someone they dont actually want. When youre with a woman and you are going to be exclusive with her ask your self, If I could be with anyone I wanted, no matter what, would I choose this woman. If the answer is no, you have made the wrong decision. If youre the type thats only taken what he can get you likely dont know what you want. Sure you should have a basic idea of what type of women you prefer, but you dont really know what you want unless youve experienced a lot of different women. You might realize the type you think you want might turn out to not be right for you once youve dated that type. There are a lot of women who also have Scarcity Mindset, but beautiful women do not. They have tons of men to choose from and they know it. They cannot relate to a man who doesnt also see abundance. Women are attracted to men who are choosers, not men who wait to be chosen. People are often scared to get out of relationships that they know arent right for them because they are scared that they wont find someone else. It is important that you make being an attractive man a part of your identity and you are able keep that identity and still see abundance even in a relationship. This will allow you to make healthier relationship decisions for yourself. If you decide that a relationship is not good for you it is easier to walk away knowing that you can get another woman rather than staying and creating an unhealthy situation for both of you because you lack the ability to see abundance. You must believe there is abundance to receive abundance because once you believe your thoughts and actions will cause behavior that will allow it. Use this new mindset to allow you to not be needy or care about the outcome of any interaction. Be willing to walk away from all interactions. Picking a mate is a big deal so be choosy. By Carl Mueller Next to public speaking, cold calling might be the scariest thing people try to avoid doing at all costs. A cold call is when you call someone on the phone who is not expecting your call for the purpose of getting that person to do something for you. Sales people use cold calling to introduce themselves to potential sales prospects in the hopes that this person will buy something from them. Recruiters use cold calling to find companies who will let them work on jobs that they are trying to fill. We also use cold calling to find job candidates for the jobs that were working on. You can use cold calling to speak with potential hiring managers to enquire about jobs with their company. Cold calling 50 people on the phone is obviously more effective than visiting 50 companies in person but cold calling is one of the hardest and most maligned tactics that people use to get what they want. Mostly, its because cold calling has so many negative stereotypes associated with it: Its scary to do It uses scripted, forced conversations that sound like a sales pitch The fear of being rejected or not knowing what to say Cold calling is not easy but it doesnt have to be difficult either. Plus, because the vast majority of people who are looking for the same jobs you are will not cold call employers, you can use it to separate yourself from them. The best way to approach cold calling is to have a plan of attack before you pick up the phone. Id suggest against totally scripting your calls because you dont want to sound like you are reading from a script nor can you actually predict exactly what the person you will speak with will actually say. But if you have little or no experience with cold calling, what you might want to do is write out a marketing message that you will use for your cold calling to refer to when you the hiring manager answers the phone. (In my other article called Cold Calling: How to Cold Call Your Way to a New Job Using Voice Mail I refer to how to handle a cold call if you reach the hiring managers voice mailbox.) A suitable goal of a cold call for a job searcher is to get a relevant hiring manager on the phone and to get them to agree to meet with you in their office. In other words, you want to get an interview. To get an interview you will need to illustrate to the hiring manager that you are someone who solves a problem that they have and that you are in fact the ideal person to solve that problem. Although each call will roll out differently, here are the main points you want to cover during the call: 1. Opening introduction: briefly introduce yourself with enthusiasm ie. Hi, this is John Smith. Dont bother asking an open-ended question like How are you or Is this a good time to talk because it just gives the person a chance to get you off the phone. 2. Give a brief explanation of your work background and your level of experience. ie. Im a Database Administrator with 5 years of hands-on experience and I’m contacting you to enquire about your requirements for someone with my skillset. Then follow up with something exceptional and specific that makes you stand out from other candidates ie. I am certified on Database Platform A and B and in my most recent position, reduced database downtime by 23%. I think it’s good to pop in a quick reference to the fact that you’re a job searcher, without specifically asking for a job. At this point all you are trying to do is get in front of them for an interview. That’s the goal of the call. You don’t want to put the person off by coming right out and asking for a job but at the end of the day, that’s your ultimate goal! No sense beating around the bush and making it seem like you’re calling them to have a chat. You made the call for a purpose and that purpose is to let them know why they need to interview you. 3. Ask for an interview. ie. When can I meet with you in person?Again, these three points may only form part of the cold call because it will really depend on what the person on the other end of the phone says in response. These three points are the main ones you want to get across during the call. Now that youve got your script ready, you need hiring managers to speak with. The best thing to do is to make a list of companies who are advertising for people with your skills or short of that to make a list of companies who you know need people with your skills from time to time. Perhaps you have friends who work for companies who might need your skills and they could put the good word in for you with the hiring manager before you call. Before you start making your calls, ensure that you keep track of all companies and the contact details for hiring managers you speak with so you can effectively manage your list. You dont want to speak with someone twice and forget that youve already spoken with them. Putting an Excel spreadsheet together will help keep track of your progress. If the hiring manager wont meet with you and many will try to avoid this especially if they dont have a job opening currently they might try to get you off the phone by asking for your resume instead. If you cant get an interview and have exhausted your options for arranging one, you might agree to email your resume to them for future consideration. Finally, dont be disappointed with rejection. You might get rejected more often that not but effectively cold calling hiring managers has better odds than simply firing off an equal number of emails and waiting for the calls to come in. Once you break from ho-hum marketing, and learn to put your deeper beliefs and values into your promotion, a remarkable thing will happen: You will beat your competitors at every turn, attract precisely those clients who really need and appreciate the products or services your company provides, and have a really good time in your business. In other words once you know what your clients really value, and how you are different from your competitors then its an incredibly simple process to promote your companys products or services. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE AND YOUR COMPETITORS Think about it: If you really know what is of value to your clients, what they want and need, and what you could offer that your competitors do not, its easy to get the business from the clients you want. This also makes it completely simple to know exactly what to say in your promotional messages. Youre conveying the fact that you offer something of interest, you do it well, how you’re completely different from others who do the kinds of things yourcompany does, and really connect emotionally with those who need your services. Heres an 8 step process to get started: 1. FIND YOUR COMPETITORS. Yes, everyone has them although almost every company I work with initially says they dont have any. Its just not true. Google the keywords that describe your company such as; marketing consulting or IT Support in Kalamazoo, youll find them. 2. MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOUR COMPETITORS CLAIM. Make a list in one column of what main verbs or nouns your competitors are using. In the case of my company, which does marketing, the list is: consulting, business management, promotional design, copywriting, market research, websites, advertising, marketing plans and so forth. 3. LIST WHAT YOU OFFER, in detail. In another column make a list of what you offer. 4. FIND WHAT IS SIMILAR. Circle the words in both columns that are basically similar in meaning. 5. FIND THE DIFFERENCES. Now highlight the words in your column that are different. Remember, it doesnt necessarily have to be a product or service that is completely different, but maybe the way you offer that service. For example, my company looks into the soul of a company to find out what really is meaningful to them with our unique process that allows them to attract clients that are really right (and ripe!) for them, rather than just spam everyone with tons of promotion like most marketing consultants recommend. What does yours do? [Hint: do NOT say we give good service because that is what virtually everyone on the planet THINKS sets them apart. It doesnt. Its pass, boring and completely meaningless since its oversaturated in our contemporary vocabulary.] Go ahead, be creative, not boring. Everyone will appreciate it and youll get more clients. ASK YOUR CLIENTS. Now ask some of your colleagues, friends or clients to tell you truthfully what they value about you. When you fully understand what makes your clients tick (and more importantly, what they love or dont love — about doing business with you), you can promote those qualities to other potential markets. Add those comments to your own column and highlight the phrases that are unique from your competitors. Your clients will exactly know how you are different, better, and more valuable to themand you may even learn a few things you could change to make your offerings even more perfect for them! We find hiring a researcher gets you the very best answers the most honestly. But if you cannot afford this, send a very short questionnaire to clients asking them some very specific questions about what is of value, what is not. Best to incentivize your clients for the time it takes them to answer these questions, since everyones time is valuable. You could try offering movie tickets, one of your products, some of your time for free, or whatever you think THEY would appreciate. At some point, be sure to get a pro to do this client evaluation because youll get much deeper, more useful testimonials you can use in your promotional materials that those quickie survey answers just dont generate as well. 6. INVESTIGATION LEADS TO RESULTS. When you do this investigation, many wonderful surprises emerge. You might find that your clients need other services you could offer, or that you are undervaluing your services and could easily raise your prices (this is actually a very common discovery). Also, you might find that a simple change to your invoice system would make everyone much happier. Or, you might learn that even though you believe you offer lightning-fast response time, your clients dont perceive it that way. From this information, you can often make improvements that lead to significantly more income. 7. ASSEMBLE YOUR CONTENT. Now take all those phrases and keywords you highlighted and put them on a page, add a bit of your true soul and beliefs about your company (you have some passion, presumably, otherwise why would you start your own business?) to build emotion, and then list your services or product descriptions. If youre not an experienced writer, hire one to help you. Need advice or a referral? Call us. Or ask your competitors. I do. 8. CREATE THE BUZZ. Now consider the last company you heard about that totally gripped you. You wanted to tell all your friends about it, because it had such an intriguing affect on you, right? In marketing, its all about creating that buzz you want to evoke that reaction in your audience (or target market) through your marketing materials, your print ads, TV commercials, presentations, networking, and of course by doing great work, which offers lots of value! So, take this information and get it out to the world in any and every way you can. MARKETING TAKES TIME. SPEND IT WISELY. Marketing research, evaluating your competitors so you can promote your own unique capabilities, and gaining the confidence to let the world know about your talents, is the reward.
