How to Get The Perfect Haircut Every Time

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

By Evelyn Grazini Im not known as a person who worries much, but I usually get a feeling of anticipation and anxiety whenever I go to get a simple haircut. I have been with the same hairstylist for over 10 years (well call him John), but there are still some areas of concern when I ask him for a new hairstyle. The same process goes on every time: I sit down in the chair, he puts the cape on me, then he fluffs my hair a little and says what do we want to do today? If Im just in the mood for a trim, thats easy, I know what to expect, he will just follow the same cut as last time and make it a little shorter. However, the worry starts when Im in the mood for a change, and, in fact, we have discussed this topic several times. He was complaining to me one day that a guy came in and wanted a haircut that made him look daring. What the heck does daring look like!? John said he had no clue, and basically gave him the same haircut as usual, and wasnt sure if he would ever come back for another cut. I have to admit that I am guilty of the same thing. I go in and say I want a change, he says what were you thinking of, and I say, Oh, I dont know, just do your Magic. I know he is the professional, and hes really good at his work, but I have gotten cuts that were wayyy shorter than I wanted, and then sometime, as in the case above, I get practically the same hairdo I had before, and go home disappointed. Sometimes I will try to get to my appointment early so I have time to go through the books and see if there is a hairstyle that I like. Usually there is nothing that I can even imagine suggesting for myself, and of course, John cant help me because he is busy with his customer. All this makes my 6-week visit a pain in the rear, if you know what I mean. Thats why I finally decided to do things the easy way. I registered with an on-line Hairstyle Selection agency about a month before my next haircut was due. I uploaded my picture, tried on several different hairstyles before I went to my appointment, and then picked the one I was in the mood for and gave it to John as I sat down. You would not believe the results! John cut my hair exactly as shown in the picture! We were both on the same page as to what I wanted; I was less nervous knowing how I would look when it was all finished; and I was so happy with my new hairdo that I tipped him really good and left the shop humming a happy tune. In my opinion, it just doesnt get any better than that! Evelyn Grazini is a Health and Wellness Researcher, and the Editor at aHealthStop Your One Stop Shop for Health, Wellness, and Beauty. Build Your Business Through Networking

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

By Joe Love Heres one of the most important success principles youll ever learn. It is this: The more people you know and who know you in a favorable way, the more successful you will be in your business or profession. When you look around at the most successful people in your city, industry, or profession, you will find that they are the ones who are known and respected by the greatest number of people. One of the hallmarks of highly successful men and women, and most self-made millionaires, is that they network continually, everywhere they go and with almost everyone they meet. By learning and developing the skill of networking you can move ahead faster, rise further, and accomplish more in a shorter period of time. Networking should be an integral part of any marketing plan. Networking produces word of mouth, which in turn produces referrals. Every businessperson and professional knows that word of mouth is the most effective and least expensive approach to attracting new business. Yet few people really understand how they can create it. Networking is making contact to establish relationships that can lead to business. Sometimes the path to business is direct; other times it is indirect leading to referrals. Often times the person who you meet at a networking event will know someone else who needs your products or services. Many people go to networking events hoping to business right then and there, but it very rarely works that way. Business is not done directly at networking event. When you attend a networking event, your goal should be to meet two or three people, find a reason to follow-up, and start a relationship. Any future business will come from an indirect referral, someone they know who might need your products or services. Networks often have a greater impact than their size might indicate. Each member of a network knows dozens of people who, in turn, know dozens of others, and so on. Because of this mushroom effect, a group of 30 or 40 people might know literally thousands of other people throughout the local, national, and even international business community. The possibilities are enormous. Being a member of a well-organized network is like having dozens of salespeople working for you all the time. Each referring prospective customers your way. Before you begin to network, you must have a positive attitude. When you join a networking group, remain focused on the reason why youre there. Too many people go to networking events and get caught up in nit-picking, such as the speaker was mediocre, as so on. These factors are secondary to the quality of contacts you are making. Never loose sight of the reason why youre there. It is also important to understand that people buy from people they know and trust. So to effectively network you must be a good listener. Listen to the people you meet to see how you might assist them in what they do. Giving first and giving more than receiving is a very important rule of networking. Contacts to establish relationships that can lead to business, only happen when the relationship is mutually beneficial. Networking is giving first, and then receiving. If one party does all the giving, then the relationship will not last and the networking ends. Networking relationships takes work and cooperation by all parties involved. Networking is not a skill you are born with, it is an acquired skill. It is developed through education, training, and practice. Many business people spend plenty of time trying to network, but very few spend any time trying to learn how to do it correctly. The way you learn to network is by reading books and listening to audio programs about networking, and by talking to other people who network well. And most importantly, practice what you learn. Before you attend any networking event you must have clearly defined, realistic goals. Most people go to networking events with the goal of handing out as many business cards as they can. This is wrong. Your goal in networking should not be to pass out business cards. Your goal should be to receive as many business cards as you can. Your goal should be to make as many contacts and get as much information as you can that will lead to increased business. At networking events, make sure your nametag identifies your company or profession. Always carry plenty of well-designed business cards with you. Use the backs of the cards you receive from others to make notes that will help your memory kick in about each individual. And, carry a card case with the cards of other people you network with, so you can hand one to anyone interested in their services. When you attend a networking event, greet people, hand out your card, and then ask for their card. Introduce yourself in a way that is brief, effective, and memorable. Take the time to plan and rehearse your introduction so you can make the most out of your first 60 seconds. Prepare an easy-to-understand overview of what you do, or the product or service you offer. Heres an example of a simple and effective introduction sequence you can use: * Give your name. * Give your business name or profession. * Give a benefit statement about one particular product or service you offer that tells people what you do that benefits others. * Then, get them to talk about themselves, and listen carefully. The key to success in networking is follow-up. Just like any other form of marketing, it takes time to cultivate the relationship before a lead can be converted to a referral or an actual sale. You must follow-up with your new contact with an invitation to coffee, lunch, or an after-hours meeting. Always send a card, note, or e-mail to the people youve met within twenty-four hours after the event. Mentioning some key points from your initial contact in your follow-up note is a great relationship builder. Always remember that the most successful people and companies are those that are the most trusted. Trust doesnt happen overnight. You must gain the confidence of other people by nurturing long-lasting relationships. Only then will you see a steady crop of new customers, referred by the people with whom youve networked. What it really comes down to is this: You can have anything you want in business, or in life, if youre willing to help enough other people get what they want. It is a simple and time-tested universal law. Yet, it is still a mystery to so many people in business. When you send a few people a day out to help other businesses in your network, youll find that the door also swings the other way: thousands of customers every year will go out of their way to buy from you, because they will be driven to your business through the power of networking. Rural New Mexico Oasis Provides Natual Skin Care

Monday, December 17th, 2007

By Mary Ellen Merrigan Natural implies simple, healthy and close to nature; it means being an integral part to the whole. Like organic, natural is that which is fundamental. Natural is readily accessible or obtainable. Would you spend $250 on a handcrme, only to apply it while wearing gloves? Of course not! Yet, that’s what a majority of people do daily and weekly when they neglect to exfoliate their skin. The Garden Gate Day Spa, located on The Center For Ageless Living Campus, walks its natural talk by incorporating the bounty from our own pesticide free garden beds into spa therapies. Harvested at the peak of their bloom, flowers and herbs are dried and ground into a fine flour for use in face and body treatments. These powders, used dry or mixed into a paste with the addition of hydrosols, oils and/or other beneficial natural ingredients evolve to Lavendar Relaxation, Orange Blossom Renewal, Rosebud Restorative, Citrus Polisher, Amber Waves of Grain, or Fruit Basket Facial at The Garden Gate Day Spa. Botanically-named treatments from which you pick authenticate the spa. A variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers, grow on campus. The orchard produces quince, plums and almonds. Rosemary, lavendar and rose bushes yield many healing benefits when applied topically. RoseHips Flour helps protect skin from capillary damage by hydrating, firming and toning skin tissues. Rose Petals Flour, a mood elevator, reduces stress. Lavendar soothes, relaxes and balances skin. Rosemary Flour which contains vitamins A and C, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and calcium may be used to increase circulation, stimulate muscles and enhance mental clarity. Garden Gate flours combine with locally harvested honey, organic grains and fresh fruit juices, to gently rid skin of dry, flat and dull cells. This in turn, contributes to a healthy lifestyle both internally and externally. Thus, the premise that natural reflects ageless radiance. Experience natural skin care at The Garden Gate Day Spa and Salon, located on Highway 47 just north of South El Cerro Loop in Los Lunas. The Center for Ageless Living is a unique facility that embraces and supports aging with a variety of programs and services that include family and community involvement. Salmon Fishing on Owen Sound

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

By Milos Pesic Owen Sound may be a Music City, but most anglers know better. Owen Sound of Ontario, Canada is a Salmon Fishing City, a city where the most rewarding game of salmon fishing can be found. Owen Sound of Ontario, Canada is indeed breadth by breadth a salmon city. The waters over Owen Sound are remarkable in several aspects. One such aspect is its Lake Effect Snow phenomenon indigenous only to the Great Lakes. As such, residents in the area sometimes experience harsh snowfalls even on clear skies. And on winter, the norm is 80 inches of snow and long, long weeks of dull gray weather. But even the waist high of snow doesnt deter salmon anglers to go salmon fishing on Owen Sound. In fact, to combat the Great Gray Funk (or the Seasonal Affective Disorder), most locals know how to combat such seasonal disorder. They have just one therapy in mind: to go on salmon fishing. And salmon fishing on Owen Sound is what they do. Anglers couldnt care less about an 8 inch snow, only those heavy runs of salmon and trout. Breaking a hole in the ice and dropping a line. That was one ancient fishing practice. Though I cannot recommend such idea to be good or bad, perhaps on this list of several experts in salmon fishing on Owen Sound you can find one to tell you what. But definitely they can tell you how to get near those salmons and even show you how to chase those weather blues out of your system. Gearing up for salmon fishing? Be sure to catch the latest info regarding salmon fishing on Owen Sound. Going Fishing TV Website: http://www.goingfishingtv.com/newsletter.view.asp?id=1 From Newsletter to the Going Fishing Television Series, Mr. Darryl Choronzey can be said as the typical mans fisherman. Not as flashy as the emerging breed of tournament anglers, though equally reputable in his own right. Mr. Darryl Choronzey has 40 years worth of fishing experience and it shows on his ranting and raving over his website about various topics regarding Great Lakes angling. Need some tips for landing a Chinook, read some stuff there. Are you in a situation where choosing between a Daiwa reel and a Shimano reel? Listen to what Mr. Darry Choronzey has to say. While Alaska and British Columbia are blessed with the Catch and Release policy, salmon fishing on Owen Sound doesnt have to be so stringy! In Owen Sound, you eat what you catch. Furthermore, you compete with other anglers in catching those salmons during the Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular Season around August, so check your calendars and have those rods ready. A Personal Loan Can be a Great Option for Short Term Financial Success

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tyson_J_Stevenson]Tyson J Stevenson Today people are running for success. Success is the only thing, which everyone wants to get, but not all can obtain. The meaning of success varies from person to person. For most people, success is making their dreams come true. But sometimes financial problems can create obstacles to achieving your goals. If you are suffering from financial worries, then consider a Personal loan. To over come financial problems, there are personal loans to help you. Personal loans are a great option for any of following purposes. 1) Business purposes.2) Debt consolidation.3) Home improvement.4) Weddings.5) Higher education.6) Holiday celebration. The term personal loan is used to define standard types of borrowing while applying for personal loan, there is no need to mention the purpose and you can use it according to your wish. Loan providing companies really do not show interest in your reasons. The most important aspect for them is - would you be able to repay your loan? Majority of personal loans work in the same manner. a) Apply for personal loan.b) After approval of loan you will get your money.c) Spend money according to your needs.d) Repay your loan in monthly installments according to your loans agreement. THATS ALL! Basically there are two types of personal loans. 1) Secured personal loans: These personal loans provide you a sum of up to $350000 (or 12.5% of collateral) for a period of up to 25 years. The interest rates often fluctuate & are usually quite high. Nevertheless, you have an option of choosing between the variables or fixed interest rates. 2) Unsecured personal loans: With unsecured personal loans you can get up to $20000 for a period of five to six years. Here, you need not to provide anything as security. Unsecured loans have higher interest rate than secured loans, as the lender gets no security for his investment. Some tips to find a right personal loan. 1) First of all you should calculate the amount you are going to borrow from the lender and how you will repay it. 2) After finalizing your required sum, the next step is how to find a perfect personal loan. In past, searching a right personal loan was tough. But now there are many institutions which can do it for you. Visit banks and other financial institutions of your area and ask them about their terms and conditions (Do not forget to ask the type of interest and the rate of interest.). Collect all the needed information. Today many banks provide online loan facility; therefore you are recommended to visit their websites and make a comparison of your collected data to finalize the best deal. 3) Try to obtain a discount, if available. 4) After finding the right option, apply for it. Attracting Attention with Your Online Dating Profile

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

By Bonny Albo After dating more than 500 different people over the space of four years, Ive seen my fair share of online dating profiles. On top of that, Ive had, literally, thousands of responses from the profiles Ive posted on various Net dating sites. All of this first-hand research has made me a bit of an expert in the subject of creating a profile that catches the eye of potential suitors. I know what has worked for me, and what has worked for others to get my attention. Also, Ive spoken with countless friends, dates and chatters on this subject, to get their opinion on the matter as well. Four themes emerged from the discussions; four simple things that every online dater can do to ensure more responses. And with more responses, comes more dates. 1) Post an Eye-Catching Picture The most effective way to get responses from your online dating profile is post a picture. Not just any picture will do, either. It has to be a clear, crisp shot of you doing something a tad out of the ordinary, or looking somehow different from the rest of the crowd. Lets be honest here! Youve got a lot of competition online, and only a couple of seconds to attract someones attention. The more unusual and outrageous your picture is, the better. Over the years Ive spoken many times with friends about my dates, or profiles that have caught my attention. Many times I dont even use peoples names anymore, because I could meet five Johns in a month, and trying to explain who is who confuses everyone. Instead, I create handles like Alligator Wrestler, and Urban Spelunker. These names have usually come from their profile pictures. Im sure you can just imagine what kinds of photos were used to earn these titles! The point is that you want something memorable as your first introduction. Since I dont have any memorable pictures of me to use, I chose a picture of me that resembles a celebrity as my main profile shot. Many people do a double take, and then feel compelled to contact me and say, Hey, you look a lot like Kristie Alley! Things usually progress from there. 2) Create a Powerful Opening Line Before you can determine what is powerful, though, you should take a peek and see what your counterparts are using. Just maybe your favorite line from that song is being used by every other Net dating user right now. Or maybe you see a theme that you want to avoid completely. Checking out the competition never hurts, but in this case, its crucial. Once youve done your research, you can start creating an opening line. Again, being unusual here is a plus. The more obscure, the better! You want potential dates to read what you say, and think, What? I have to learn more, and then contact you to ask for more details. Coy, provocative, flirty and outrageous all work here use them freely. One of the best responses I ever received from an opening line was a reference to an article I read about a Masturbate-a-thon fundraiser for cancer research. Of course, not everyone will want to use something so blatantly suggestive in their profile. But it worked for me, even though I became inundated with a lot of people looking for something a bit different than what I wanted. 3) Keep It Simple For years I was well-known for my long-winded profile pieces that did a great job of explain the 5 Ws of, well, me. It took quite a while to realize that few people actually read all of my prose, and if they did, they rarely remembered it while chatting and getting to know me. Now, my profiles are short, to the point, open and honest. I leave readers wanting more, and so should you. Its another great way to get that, Wow, that wasnt a lot, I want to know more about that person! reaction. 4) Be Honest This may sound very basic but it isnt. If one of the generic questions on a profile asks you about your stance on politics, having children, or sex answer it truthfully. People will search out others using these terms, and not answering or being dishonest only hinders your online search. The honesty principle also includes pictures, too. If your best eye-catching photo isnt recent, use it, but make it clear somewhere how old it is, and how you may have changed since then. And dont forget to include more recent, clear photos of yourself elsewhere. Although it may seem a bit creepy, your goal is to describe yourself so well that someone walking down the street will recognize you from your online profile. Ive had this happen to me more than a dozen times in almost four years. Even though it was a bit uncomfortable at times when it did happen, I know at least that I have been honest in how I present myself. Still in need of dating advice? Can’t get enough online dating news, views and how-to’s? Join Bonny Albo, the author of this article and admitted web dating junkie, at WebDatingNews.com for more. Much, *much* more. Have We Had Enough Yet?

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

By Dawn Worthy Mathematics is a funny science. We often think of it as the last bastion of good old reliable logic. That is, mathematics is often perceived as a dispassionate science. There is no movement to save endangered unsolvable equations. There are no picketers to prohibit future mathematical research and there are no math or geometry bars peppering the landscape so that mathophiles can feed their addictions by the cup full. Yet, mathematics quantifies and predicts some of the most irrational and emotional human (particularly western) behaviors. It knows and can predict the behavior of the consumer. The bell curve shows us that upon introduction, the population at large generally rejects a thing, a phrase or a concept. Over time, with continued exposure, whether that thing is good or bad it will gain acceptance by the masses. Over even more time, it will loose favor and only a few die hards will hang on to it. What mathematics does not tell us is why the behavior exists and what triggers the changes. Okay, I can accept a natural life cycle. The problem I have comes at the peak usage point and just before it. Why can’t we just say, I have had enough, before something becomes over used, over done or just plain abused? Why are so few people willing to grapple with the idea that the planet is not a ball of never ending resources before we are in an imminent life-threatening crisis? Why can’t we pay enough attention to our children before they become corrupted youths? Why are we compelled to consume the last bite? These questions are one in the same. Only the context is different. In the 70’s, someone had this brilliant idea to put glass balls on either end of a string and make a game out of using inertia to cause the balls to slam together over and under the hand holding the string in rapid succession. Where I lived, they were called click clacks. They were eventually banned because frequently enough, the glass balls shattered. Children were seriously injured. Who couldn’t see that one coming? The balls were GLASS! Everyone saw it coming. Why did they become so popular with the obvious consequence so, well, obvious? Because, they were pretty and the danger was too thrilling to resist. The rising anxiety as the clacking became louder as the balls struck harder and harder. The titillation of waiting for the loudest crash of the balls and waiting to see if the glass really would splinter into the crowd and onto the user was breathtaking. Sales were at their zenith just after the potential danger was announced and up to when they were banned. Either beauty or danger by itself can drive us beyond reason. Together they are a compelling pair. We are told all of our lives to be ourselves. How many people who say that believe it? Relatively speaking, no one does. Proof that no one does is in the billion dollar cosmetics industry. Proof is in the billion dollar diet industry. Proof is in the success of Brad Pitt, Sean Connery and Humphrey Bogart movies. Beautiful men do uncommonly well even when they lack any discernible talent. Bankable men are beautiful and dangerous. There are strong indications that our desire for the beautiful and the dangerous is hardwired in our genetic coding. I can accept that; besides, I have seen almost every Sean Connery movie ever made and I know why. Still, we like to consider ourselves superior to the beasts because we can choose to override our genetic programming with our intellect. If intellect and compassion are the gifts that make us reign supreme over the land and the beasts, then because of intellect and compassion we are surely charged with being good stewards. We learned that in the first Spiderman movie. You remember, when Peter Parker’s uncle tells him with great power comes great responsibility. Surely, we had a way of knowing this before Spiderman. The preponderance of the evidence says, no. Women have let the media tell them they are ugly and imperfect, that they need to be continously “fixed”. Cosmetic companies offer women a solution for this condition, makeup to use everyday that will slowly poison them. Women are the givers of life and nurturing. They are inherently beautiful - no matter what they look like. Inside women know this and still they let the media transform that knowledge into a small imperceptible light inside them. In too many women, that light is extinguished altogether. (See anorexia, bulimia and every woman who makes a living working a pole.) We let corporations make us fear odor so much that when they offer us cleansers and perfumes made of cheap toxins, we take it. No questions asked. We allow limited resources to be squandered on archaic Pavlovian responses to fictitious threats to our emotional and social survival. In the mean time, we let the true threats to our physiological survival slip into the darkness. Where they become the bogeyman. The bogeyman is a slave to corrupt and powerful masters. He is trotted out at their whim for their own best interest. After serving the highest bidder, the bogeyman returns to the shadows. The bogeyman lives in the milk of women at the Arctic Circle because of the air and ocean currents. The toxic brew they nurse their children with comes from the waste of the industrialized world. They are the canaries in the coalmines and their songs have been silenced. The bogeyman lives in our prepubescent children whose bodies are developing faster than we have seen before. Could it be the ingestion of meat laced with growth hormones? When I was a child, I didn’t know anyone with a food allergy. Today, you can’t take 2 steps without tripping over someone with a food allergy. Maybe, they aren’t really allergic to the food. Maybe, they are really allergic to the herbicides, pesticides and other concoctions that come co-mingled with the food. The bogeyman lives in wars that kill our children over scarce resources and the power to allocate them. In short, (I know it’s a little late for that) I think it’s time we as a culture say, when not because the next best thing has arrived but because we have had enough. High Intensity Discharge Grow Light (Generic)

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

By Kirk Gordon HID lamps are categorized in three groups :Mercury Vapor , Metal Halide, and Pressurized Sodium. For plant cultivation, Metal Halide (MH) or Pressurized Sodium (HPS and LPS) are the ones commonly used in grow rooms.Mercury Vapor - Mercury Vapor lamps are common, but they are not the most energy efficient for lighting plants or anything else. Mercury Vapor lamps have an average life of 24,000 hours. A black coating that deposits it’s self on the inside of the bulb decrease light output after a significant amount of use. Pressurized Sodium: High and low pressure sodium lamps (HPS and LPS) are considered the most efficient lighting option for plant’s in flowering phase. Sodium causes this type of lighting to be a yellow/orange color. A ten minute warm-up period is needed before you can turn on light after turning it off. The life of the HPS and LPS are the same as the Mercury Vapor, however, the energy requirements (wattage) is about half. HPS lamps are usually chosen for outside or warehouse applications where color is not important, and where instant lighting is not required. When Pressurized Sodium lights are used in plant applications, they are commonly used only during the plant’s flowering phase. Pressurized Sodium spectrum is more suitable for flowering plants than Metal Halide or Fluorescent lamps. Plants grown under Pressurized Sodium lamps yields larger, denser fruits and flowers. Metal Halide: Unlike Pressurized Sodium, Metal Halide lamps have instant startup and emits a white color, however, they have about half the lifetime of both Mercury Vapor and Pressurized Sodium lamps. Metal Halide have a lower wattage than Pressurized Sodium. Metal Halide are usually better for applications where color of light is important. Metal Halide can also be used as an artificial light source for growing plants indoors. Metal Halide lamps are usually used during a plant’s growth phase because its spectrum provides good growth rate and smaller compact plants. Metal Halide Lamps provide high system efficiency (up to 100 lumens/watt) compared to Mercury Vapor, fluorescent and incandescent lights. Metal Halide have a “white” color which makes a good approximation for daylight. Metal Halide lamps last for 10,000 to 15,000 hours. Metal Halide lamps have a shorter lifetime than high pressure sodium lamps. Metal Halide lamps, however, have a shorter lifetime than high pressure sodium lamps. Knowing When to Move

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

By Scott Best How can you know when the best time of year, or season, or set of circumstances are best to plan and execute a move? People have been pondering that question for many years with out any concrete evidence to support one theory over another. So is there any clear cut answer to the question "when is it best to move?" Probably not. But they may be some guidelines to consider when moving that may fit your situation and help you to make the best decisions when it comes to packing up and relocating. Statistics show that the busiest time of year in the residential real estate business is March through May or sometimes June. Don’t be mistaken, homes get sold all year long, but this statistic would indicate that people when given a choice would purchase a home and relocate during these months. Does this mean that these peak months would be a good time for you to relocate as well? Not necessarily, in fact depending on your type of personal needs, it may be a relocation period to avoid completely. Volume of activity in the real estate market to a great degree dictates many factors that directly effect the over all relocation process. Because of the sheer volume of people who are relocating during the peak real estate season, the availability of moving resources are more in demand, making them harder to find and more expensive when they are available. Such things as hiring a moving service or renting a DYI moving van or truck will be more expensive during peak season. Several factors my influence a decision to move. Families with children in school most often opt to move during the summer months if possible which co insides with the peak real estate market period. A job may require you to move during a specific period, leaving you little or no choice as to the season or period in which you move. Deciding when to move can have a dramatic effect on your real estate buying decisions as well. The need or the decision to move during peak months can cost you considerably more money. If you are buying real estate in a competitive market, buying in peak months may increase the price you will pay for a given property, because of competing bids. And as stated, moving during those busy months will almost insure a higher cost paid for relocation services regardless whether you hire it done, or move yourself. Understand your needs when it comes to moving. If at all possible, plan on making a move before it becomes absolutely necessary. Moving under pressure may result in less than an optimal decision making processesBe well apprised of your current financial situation, so that you are able to know and take advantage of the best situations in buying a new or selling your existing home, thus being able to coordinate your relocation to a time or season that best suites your wants and or needs. (Knowing your current financial status will help you determine if it is best to buy then sell, or sell then buy your new home. This may well be the corner stone for many when it comes to making the best relocation decisions) If possible choose to relocate in none peak seasons, to better the possibility of purchasing real estate and relocation resources at reduced or lowered seasonal rates. Understand that moving (if you have children especially) is a family affair. Give kids a say as well. At the very least, involve them in the moving process, they may need to tie up loose ends just as the grown ups do. Give them as much time as possible to prepare for a move. It’s the right thing to do.In closing, what is the best time to make a move? I truly feel that there is no particular time that is better then another because every circumstance for moving or relocating is different. I do feel however, that having the proper knowledge can help each individual make well informed decisions on when the best time or season to relocate will be. Start planning as soon as possible, and don’t rule out a time because of how you think someone else might feel about it before first asking. Not everyone may agree on a particular time and ultimately someone has to make the choice. But positive input should always be welcomed and considered earnestly. Secure Voice Communication through Secure Telephone

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=K_Anand]K Anand The Secure Telephone is a communications system that meets the need for the protection of vital and sensitive information over a telephone system. Secure Telephone is a compact, self- contained, desktop unit capable of providing the user with both clear as well as secure voice and data transmissions. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it works as an ordinary telephone simultaneously providing a secure telephone network to the other terminals.Secure Telephone is a telephone that provides voice security in the form of end-to-end encryption for the telephone call, and in some cases also the mutual authentication of the call parties, protecting them against a man in the middle attack. The Secure Phone defeats telephone bugging and tapping attempts. Automatic telephone recording devices, line transmitters, or any other voltage-activated device will not function. The Secure telephone protects voice communications over PSTN, EPABX, VSAT TROPO, Hotlines, Leased Lines and ASCON networks. Secure Telephone equipment may be used to provide secure communications on all commercial and military telephone networks. Full feature Secure telephone terminals are equipped with modems that also allow clear and secure data transfer. However, some telephone networks do not provide the high-quality, low-noise circuits necessary for data transmission. The Secure Telephone is operated in the same way as any regular telephone. Calls on Secure telephone are always initiated in a clear voice mode. Once the party you have called (at another secure telephone terminal) has answered, you have the option of talking to that person in the clear voice or secure voice mode. Calls are always initiated in the clear voice mode, exactly the same as a normal telephone call. When two terminals communicate in the secure mode, each terminal automatically displays the authentication (identification) information of the distant terminal, and a list of compromised CIKs. This information is scrolled through the display window during secure call setup. The first line of the identification information and the classification level are displayed for the duration of the secure call. The information displayed indicates the approved classification level for the call, but does not authenticate the person using the terminal. The terminal users are responsible for viewing this information to identify the distant party In this equipment three proprietary compression algorithms transform your voice into a digital stream corresponding to the achievable data rates (2 ‘ 400, 4 ‘ 800, 9 ‘ 600 bps). Voice-controlled half-duplex operation allows protected communications on channels, which do not support the full-duplex mode The practical availability of secure telephones is restricted by several factors; notably politics, export issues, incompatibility between different products and high price of the devices. However, the Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) and SCIP (Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol) standards that defines specifications for the design of equipment to secure both data and voice have now replaced this system. The concerns about massive growth of telephone tapping incidents lead to growing demand for secure telephones. Besides equipment, there are also software solutions available for secure VoIP. The most popular one is Skype, providing end-to-end encryption for PC-to-PC calls, though as it is closed-source, its security cannot be definitively verified.
